On Questioning Steve Jobs' Moral Compass

Those who critique Jobs for being driven to produce products, rather than contribute philanthropically to society are foolish. His wealth, and stature in society ensure that it is expected that he ought to have been charitable. Instead he focused on what made him happy, his work.

His ability to cut employees down to size, and his exacting standards are the traits which enabled him to produce the products we now respect him for. He wasn't evil, he was selfish. He wasn't philanthropic, he was too busy working.

So odd the fascination with Jobs' spirit, instead of his outputs - which is, selfishly, all he truly cared for, and what we now should remember him for.
