I doubt I'll ever grow up. I work in the digital industry, dreaming up concepts, research projects and products which often stem from the luxury of sitting by myself, in a coffee shoppe or on the golf course when others my age are standing up to attention in 9AM status meetings. That being said, the way I position myself - the clothes I wear, the way I speak, hell - the way I write - need to reflect this.
I've worn high top converses for as long as I can remember. I will wear them with jeans and a blazer, I'll wear them with shorts, I'll wear them walking in to boardrooms and out of restaurants. They are, unfortunately, the footwear equivalent of wearing a trilby hat; cliched and quite useless as shoes.
I switched to Fey-something-or-other - I know a life changing, dramatic event - fuck me, who gives us a shit what I wear on my feet. Apparently, they're worn predominantly by hipsters, and worse still have come apart after a month of wear.
Most recently I got a release about a shoe brand SupremeBeing. i ignore press releases because they're irrelevant. I play golf, I listen to metal, drink Weiss beer (not spirits) and I like reading the Monocle magazine - it's very difficult to send me anything I feel I could post on my blog and get any sleep at night after posting. I digress, SupremeBeing is fucking awesome and I don't have to order them online and wait months to get them - they're available from Stuttafords. Of course I'm not going in to a mall to get them, I'll have to send Talita who is far braver than I - but hell they're available in a store, in South Africa.
The range I like, Pave, is a part of their 'Mainline' range of footwear which you can go have a look at here - http://www.supremebeing.com/footwear/
I'll have these:

and these:

(no this is not a douche bag blogger endorsement. I like the shoes, and think you may like them too - if you're like me.)
